All students are required to have health insurance. It is recommended that you purchase health insurance before entering the United States. You must show proof of your health insurance by mailing or faxing a copy of your health insurance with your name, the insurance company, the policy number, and the length of coverage.
In the event that you have not purchased health insurance prior to arriving in the United States, you will be required to enroll in the USD health insurance plan. The Health Insurance Cost is $58.00 per month; Health Insurance Fee is $38.00 per semester. For more information, contact the International Programs Office at (619) 260-8835 or www.sandiego.edu/iro.
The college years contain significant personal developments which can be stressful and exciting, both socially and emotionally. Consistent with the University’s philosophy of providing personal attention to its students, the USD Counseling Center (USDCC) has a professional staff to provide counseling and a variety of services to facilitate students’ growth and emotional needs. As a student, it is not unusual to experience difficulties as you try to adjust to college life. The Counseling Center can arrange for an assessment session or for referrals to other professionals.
